Three Steps to Develop Clarity
I used to think I was clear about the things I wanted in my life. You may think you are as well. Does it look something like this? I want a __________ (nice, big, happy) ___________ (career, house, relationship). Of course, we all do. These are all “good” things and we always want good things over bad. But that is not necessarily being clear or having clarity.
I know this because I was in a bad place in my life for a very long time and I knew I didn’t want that. I wanted good things. In fact, I just wanted ANYTHING better than what I had, which was a rather sucky marriage. And I couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t attracting anything better into my life.
The truth is, I wasn’t clear about what I wanted. I was afraid to dream big because I was afraid I wouldn’t get it (and also maybe a little bit afraid that I would). So I walked around in a cloud of ambiguity, not really making any committed choices as to what I really, REALLY wanted. I asked for a sign and looked for little clues here and there as to what direction I should take in life. Obstacles in my path meant that I really wasn’t supposed to go that way, but go another way. And guess what? Nothing changed.
How was I supposed to know anyway? I didn’t even know where I was going. It’s kind of like using your GPS but only typing “West” as your destination. How do you know which signs will take you where you want to go? You have to have clarity. Clarity allows you to recognize INSTANTLY when the right thing (or sign) comes along.
The right thing is very close to you right now. But you can’t recognize it when you don’t have clarity.
3 Things you Need to Develop Clarity and Attract What You Really REALLY Want
1. Cleanse. I guarantee there are things in your life right now that are clouding your vision. It could be eating foods that make you tired and gain weight, it could be people who don’t support you or it could be distractions like shopping, tv, or internet. To gain clarity, you need to cut down on outside influences and return to pure living and thinking.
2. Desire. Some people will tell you desire is good while others will tell you it is bad. I’m here to tell you that (good or bad) desire is a vital part of having clarity. We seek out the things we desire. The stronger the desire is, the stronger the attraction will be and the easier it will be to recognize the object of your desire when it approaches.
3. Action. You can’t get anywhere unless you actually get in your car, hop on the bus, or board a plane. In other words, you have to take an action. This step only works if you’ve taken steps one and two. As I stated earlier, if you start going somewhere without knowing what you want, you’ll never know when you get there.
